Environmental Policy

The company recognises the importance of the connection between the development of the economy, the efficient management of natural resources and the protection of the environment in which it operates. It is committed to the continual improvement of its environmental performance within its operational framework.

The company adopts a clear, integrated environmental policy which forms the basis for the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) within the ISO 14001:2015 framework, at the same time fulfilling the expectations of all interested parties.

The principles underlying the company’s environmental policy are as follows:

  • compliance with the existing environmental legislation and the related regulatory framework
  • acknowledging, assessing and regulating the environmental impact of the company’s activities
  • sound management of natural resources wherever applicable
  • establishment, documentation and review of its environmental targets and performance objectives, taking into account significant environmental parameters, technological developments and financial and operational demands
  • waste management in acccordance with the corresponding authorisation and current legislation
  • prevention of the risk of accidental pollution or other type of accident. Development of immediate response and intervention plans in cases of emergency.
  • encouraging employees and suppliers to comply with all the principles of environmental protection
  • proper response to environmental hazards by taking precautionary measures, regular monitoring and risk assessment
  • regulation and supervision of threats and opportunities relating to its established environmental aspects
  • ensuring the environmental awareness and competence of our employees in accordance with the Environmental Management Systems
  • regular review and evaluation of its environmental policy and communication with the public
